FACULTY
 

Stephen C. Atnip

recieved a B.A. and M.A. from Southern Christian University, and he also graduated from the Bear Valley School of Biblical Studies. He has served as Principal, Black Creek Christian School and is the current preacher for the Black Creek church of Christ in Middleburg, FL. He teaches Bible and Bible related subjects.

 

Bob Bauer

has attended both the University of Cincinnati and the Florida School of Preaching. He has preached for congregations in Florida for the past ten years and is currently working with the Orange Street congregation in Auburndale. Bob has been involved in mission campaigns to Ghana, West Africa since 1990 and has also done radio work. He currently writes a religious column for the local newspaper. He teaches Bible and Bible-related subjects.

 

J. H. Blackman, Jr., Secretary of Board of Directors

has an A.A. degree from Florida Christian College, and a B.A. degree from David Lipscomb College in 1955. He has been a Gospel preacher since 1949. He has preached in Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Florida, Germany and Panama. He has been active in radio, television, brotherhood lectureships and Gospel meetings. He has been preaching for the North Lakeland church of Christ in Lakeland, Florida, since 1991. He has been with the Florida School of Preaching in Lakeland, Florida, since it's beginning in 1969. Glenn Burgess, Sr.

earned a BA from International Bible College (1975). He has been a Gospel preacher since 1972 having preached in Alabama, Mississippi and Florida. He is active in lectureships, gospel meetings, prison ministry and mission work. He has preached for the Booth Street church of Christ, Safety Harbor, FL since 1990 and has served on the Board of Directors since 1995. He teaches Bible and Bible related subjects.

 

Gene Burgett, Director of Public Relations

is a 1985 graduate of the Florida School of Preaching, and has taught classes for a number of years. Gene received his A.A. from Palm Beach Junior College, a BA from American Christian Bible college in 1998 and an MA from American Christian School of Religion in 2000. Gene was the preacher for the High Springs congregation for fourteen (14) years where he also conducted a weekly radio program and published a bi-monthly periodical. He continues to teach an extension class of the Florida School of Preaching at High Springs.

James S. Colwell

is a graduate of East Tennessee School of Preaching, Knoxville, Tennessee, January, 1996. He served as the preacher for the Mt. Pleasant church of Christ, Valdosta, Georgia, and at this date is the preacher at the Wesconnett church of Christ, Jacksonville, Florida. He has worked on campaigns for a number of years in Panama and Costa Rica as well as participating in Gospel campaigns in Tennessee, Kentucky and Georgia. He teaches Bible and Bible-related subjects.

 

Maurice Davis

is a graduate of the Florida School of Preaching, received an A.A. from Hillsborough Community College and a B.A. from American Christian Bible College. Brother Davis has been a Gospel preacher for 40 years. He is presently preaching at Sixth Street in Lakeland. He teaches Bible and Bible related subjects.

 

Mike Elledge

is a graduate of the Florida School of Preaching (1995). He attended Central Michigan University. He worked with the church of Christ in Alachua, FL from 1995 to 2001. While there he conducted gospel meetings and participated in radio programs. He worked with the Midway church of Christ in Sarasota, Fl from 2001 to 2004 and studied Sociology and English at Manatee Community College. He is now preaching for Springhead church of Christ in Plant City, FL. He teaches Bible and Bible related subj.

 

Brian Kenyon, Associate Director

is a graduate of the Florida School of Preaching, 1991, and has an A.S. degree from the Florida Institute of Technology, 1984. He has three degrees from Freed-Hardeman University. In 1993, he received an M.A. in New Testament. Brian has worked with churches in New Iberia, Louisiana, North Jackson Church of Christ, Bartow, Florida, Enville Church of Christ, Enville, Tennessee and Friendship Church of Christ, Tennessee. Brian has also worked on Campaigns in Scotland (1990) and Jamaica (1991). He teaches Bible, Greek and Bible-related subjects.

Miles Peoples
 

Miles Peeples

has been preaching for the Chaffee Road church of Christ in Jacksonville, Florida, since March 2002. In his over forty years of preaching, he has served congregations in five states: Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Texas and West Virginia. For 26 years, he preached in the mission fields of Georgia, where he also taught school for 17 years. He attended Abilene Christian and David Lipscomb Universities in the early 1960s. After starting out as a Greek major and Bible minor, brother Peeples earned a BA in Mathematics from Georgia State University in Atlanta (1968). He teaches Bible and Bible related classes for our Jacksonville extension classes.

 

Jackie M. Stearsman, Director

received his A.A. from Freed-Hardeman College; B.A., David Lipscomb College; and M.A, Harding Graduate School of Religion in doctrinal field (with additional study in Hebrew, Counseling, and Christian Evidences) Harding Graduate School of Religion. Brother Stearsman taught Greek at Michigan Christian College and has over 40 years of experience as a gospel preacher. He teaches Bible, Greek and Bible related subjects.

Ted Wheeler
 

Ted Wheeler

Ted graduated from the Florida School of Preaching in 1984. Following graduation, Ted and his family moved to Ghana, West Africa, where worked for the next five years. During this time they were involved in building up existing congregations, establishing new congregations in rural areas, and Ted also served as an instructor at the National Bible Institute, a preacher training school, in Accra. Since 1989, Ted has served as the minister for the church in Venice and has continued to conduct annual campaigns to Ghana. He teaches Missions I and II.
